IAB SEA+India Regional Board 2021
The Interactive Advertising Bureau Southeast Asia and India (IAB SEA+India) announced it’s 2021 Regional Board. With eighteen seats, this is the largest leadership group to date and has been established to specifically address the post pandemic needs of the industry.
“2020 was certainly a baptism by fire for many businesses and we quickly realised that how we’d operated previously needed to be reset. The profile of Regional Board Members that would have the greatest impact and influence for our network changed with this shift. The demands on any Board Member have moved from being general advisors to individual drivers who are experienced in making things happen within their specialist field.” shares Miranda Dimopoulos, Regional CEO, IAB SEA+India.

In addition to their Regional Board Seats, Sonal Patel has been named Chair and Dave Goodfellow Vice Chair in recognition of their outstanding contributions in 2020. “2020 was brutal for all and we recognise and appreciate Sonal and Dave for not only delivering on their commitments to the IAB SEA+India, but over achieving them. They are the perfect partners for the Executive Committee and we look forward to collaborating even closer with them this year.”
Sonal Patel says “I was blown away by what the IAB SEA+India team achieved in 2020, they went above and beyond to support the industry when it was needed most. I look forward to working even closer with Miranda to continue this momentum and I especially look forward to launching the Leaders of Tomorrow mentoring program to ensure we are giving extra aid to the next generation. The counsel the IAB SEA+India has given the Government around the region is impressive and they’ve been central to the development of relief packages for the industry as well as guidance on regulation and legislation. This is an area we will dive deeper into this year”.
Dave Goodfellow adds “The IAB SEA+India’s research into the effects of COVID-19 highlighted that burnout was the number one risk for this year followed by employees needing their companies to invest in their development. With a wealth of talent and expertise within our Membership launching an Online Learning Portal later this year to build on the library of resources created over the years that is agnostic as well as being by the industry, for the industry, is a no brainer. I’m also looking forward to being involved with the Councils as they’re a highlight for me, interacting with peers to address industry challenges together.”
With a soft launch for Brands to join in 2020, the Trade Association recognised that the pandemic’s acceleration of digitisation across the region brought the buy and sell side of the industry closer together than ever before. Miranda Dimopoulos says “Having businesses such as The Coca Cola Company, Friesland Campina, Kimberley Clarke immediately sign up is a great indication that our objectives are increasingly aligned in representing the region within global agendas. We have always been unapologetically Asia first and the greater the perspectives that contribute to our approach, the better we will be.”.
